Community Affairs

The Community Affairs department is staffed by a director of Community Affairs, a public information officer, two education program coordinators, three community liaisons and an outreach assistant. These eight individuals are responsible for educating the District’s nearly six million residents. The department uses a comprehensive community outreach program that promotes public awareness of District services and educates the public about mosquitoes and vector-borne disease risks through community engagement, educational outreach, city and community partnerships, and traditional and social media outlets.
