Welcome Message from the General Manager
Welcome to the Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District website. We are a local public health agency committed to reducing populations of public health vectors and the diseases they carry in order to keep our communities safe and healthy. Our staff of California-certified vector control technicians, vector ecologists and community outreach professionals effectively carry out the District's mission with care, courtesy, and professionalism.
This website is a resource for our residents, city officials, business owners, community organizations, and members of the media. On this site you will find important information about mosquitoes and other vectors, vector-borne diseases such as West Nile virus, what the District is doing to protect your health, and what you can do to protect yourself and your family. You can also use this site to submit a service request, get an update on the latest WNV statistics in your community, or book an educational presentation.
GLACVCD works hard to keep your neighborhoods free of vector-borne health threats. Please let us know how we can be of service to you. If you would like additional information about our services or wish to speak to our experts about a vector-related issue, please do not hesitate to contact one of our two offices. Protecting the health of the public in the 34 cities and areas of unincorporated Los Angeles County we serve is our number one priority, but we can't do it alone. We ask the public to join us in the fight against vector-borne diseases by remaining vigilant, proactive, and informed. Together, we can all help keep Greater Los Angeles healthy.
